Princess Peach: Showtime! is here, giving the Mushroom Kingdom monarch a chance to break out of the damsel role and do a little world-saving of her own. While the game is largely pitched to younger audiences, there are still a few things about the game that might inspire questions, and we’re here to help!
While most of Princess Peach: Showtime! keeps it pretty straightforward, the game’s Detective Peach stages take the form of old-school adventure game mysteries. These sections may puzzle younger players, and perhaps even their parents called in when they get confused, so we’re here to help. Here’s how to get through the second Detective Peach stage, “The Dark Museum & The Purple Mystery”…
At first, you’ll need to accuse this guy with the top-hat in order to get through this doorway, as he’s really a Sour Bunch Gang member. In fact, all the NPCs in this area are Sour Bunch Gang members, although you don’t have to identify all of them to proceed.
In order to open the door forward, you’ll have to identify four museum artifacts in order. You’ll know the order by how many dots are underneath them. The first one is this “Ancient Sparkle Relief” (press B while in front of an item then hold B again for a “Strike of Intuition” that identifies it as a key point of interest, but choose wisely – point fingers recklessly and you’ll lose life).
Next, single out the Pink Crystal.
Next, move to the rightmost room in this area, and interact with these Easter-Island-style heads until they all point the same way and their noses light up. This will reveal another head. Interact with it.
Now return to the center room and interact with this vase. The door will open and you can continue on.
In this next area, you’ll have to identify the Detective Sparkla. He’s the third from the left.
