Among the most interesting vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2, and the series as a whole, is the Mystic Spearhand vocation. Like most advanced vocations, however, the Mystic Spearhand vocation has to be unlocked first before the Arise can change to it.
The Mystic Spearhand can be unlocked by speaking with a specific NPC called Sigurd, who's also the vocation Meister. There are two ways to do so. The first is to play through the Readvent of Calamity quest in Melve until you meet him. The second is to find him in the vicinity of a location found in Battahl, the Dragonsbreath Tower. Dwelling in this tower is a lesser dragon, and you will have to travel to it to defeat it and make some progress in a main story quest.
In case you missed your chance to complete the Readvent of Calamity quest, which becomes unavailable after a certain point in the story, and want to unlock the vocation before you need to head to Dragonsbreath Tower to complete a main story quest, you can head over it whenever you want. It is located to the southwest of Battahl's capital Bakbattahl, and to reach it, you will have to travel throughout some areas filled with all sorts of enemies, including plenty of harpies, so make sure you can easily dispatch flying enemies and have enough items to heal.
As soon as you reach Dragonbreath Tower, you should find Sigurd resting at a campfire. Speak with him after he has informed you of the dragon's presence in the tower to unlock the Mystic Spearhand vocation. To receive the Paladin's Enigmata tome, which allows you to learn the ultimate skill of the vocation, you will have to defeat the drake, which is, incidentally, the same one that attacked the village of Melve.
