Assassin's Creed Hexe's protagonist will possess magical abilities, such as a way to possess cats, and to manage some form of fear system, according to a recent report. Assassin's Creed Hexe has only received a teaser trailer so far, leaving much to the rumor mill and speculation, but it seems to take place during the 16th-century Witch Hunts of the Holy Roman Empire.
It's worth noting that Assassin's Creed Hexe is believed to release in 2026 or later, coming after the franchise's next open-world RPG, Assassin's Creed Red. Insider Gaming describes the setting as «dark and gloomy» and this footage takes place in the «cobbled streets» of a city.
What's more, Insider Gaming reports that Assassin's Creed Hexe will feature a fear system similar to AC Syndicate's Jack The Ripper DLC—or that, at least, the current plan is to do so. If Assassin's Creed Hexe does indeed take place during a Witch Hunt, it would make a lot of sense and play well into the game's overarching theme. It could perhaps even expand on the NPC interactions seen in Assassin's Creed Mirage, as it doesn't sound like they'll necessarily be neutral to Elsa.
