Among many references, one Easter egg that stood out in the latest trailer involved .
The Deadpool co-creator got a nod in the trailer where Wolverine and Deadpool were seen in front of a store named “Liefeld’s Just Feet.” The reference humorously points to Liefeld’s history of drawing strange-looking feet in multiple comic issues. It also drew a response from Liefeld himself, who considers the joke “an honor.”
Rob Liefeld took to X — formerly known as Twitter — to react and give his stamp of approval to the reference in the trailer. In his post, Liefeld stated, “Being poked at by the premiere funny man/mega-star of his age is an absolute honor!”

This isn’t the first time the Deadpool co-creator has been referred to in Deadpool movies. The first Deadpool movie gave a nod to Liefeld during the slow-motion opening credits, with his name, “Rob L.” being written on a coffee cup.
Liefeld also made a brief cameo in the 2016 movie, playing a character at Weasel’s shady mercenary bar. His character is simply called “Liefeld” in the Deadpool universe, as the name was written on the bar’s dead pool board.
Deadpool 2 also saw Wade Wilson calling out Liefeld’s feet-drawing abilities. The comic artist is also credited as the creator of Cable, Domino, and other properties. Wade mentions in the film that Domino’s power of luck must have been created by someone who can’t draw feet.
Now, Deadpool & Wolverine features another Rob Liefeld feet joke. But with countless cameos slated for the upcoming movie, it’ll be interesting to see if Liefeld also makes another appearance. It’s also possible that he could either reprise his role from the first film or play some other multiversal variant of his past character.
Deadpool & Wolverine arrives on July 26, 2024.
