Uno might not have the history behind it that some card games do, but there aren't many better places to turn when you're looking for something to play that almost everyone can join in with right away, even if they have never played it before. Families and friends have been matching numbers and colors - and arguing about some of the game's finer details - for more than 50 years, and now Mattel is adding some licensed decks to its Uno collection via a new Uno Fandom range.
Despite being introduced in 1971, Uno cards have looked more or less the same for their entire run because, well, there's not much you can do to a card game's design when its rules revolve around a particular color scheme. Not only do all of its nine decks have an officially licensed theme, but each of those themes introduces a new rule to the game, and every deck includes a foil promo card.
Some of the themes included in Mattel's first wave of Uno Fandom decks are Disney Villains, Monster High, and Avatar: The Last Airbender. Each deck's box art features a character from its world or series, and the unique rule will differ from set to set. The Disney Villains set also includes a Maleficent's Gift foil promo card, and the other eight sets have their own foil promo card. The full list of Uno Fandom decks can be found below and all of them will be available for $12 each at Mattel Creations from 4 pm EST on March 21, 2024. More themes will join Uno Fandom in the future.
Uno Fandom's nine sets will join another new deck released in 2024 to celebrate the Super Bowl. Mattel revealed it would create limited edition Barbies, Little
