It's Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth release day. We can all breathe a huge sigh of relief. We made it. The second part in a trilogy remaking and retelling the original game, Cloud and the gang will venture out of Midgar on their journey, one that will differ greatly from the one those of us who played the original game will recognize. Joining that journey is Zack Fair, entering the Remake fray right at the end of the last game, and to mark the occasion, he and Tifa Lockheart now have their own Adorable Arts figures.
Square Enix has added the two chibi figures to its Japanese store, each of them costing 7,480 yen, so a little less than $50. Both figures are based on the characters' looks in Rebirth and are both fully posable. Since the Zack figure comes with his Buster Sword, that means you can move him around to look like he's in the middle of a battle, or posing for the camera with the iconic weapon propped on his shoulder.
There is some bad news. Neither figure is currently available outside of Japan. That means if you do want them, and you don't live in Japan, it's going to cost you a lot more than $50 to make them yours. The figures can likely be shipped to the US, but the price of shipping will up what you pay significantly. They also won't be released until August 31, 2024, although considering the minigames waiting for you in Rebirth, you'll likely still be playing when they finally arrive.
The good news is previous releases in Square's Final Fantasy 7 Adorable Arts collection suggest Tifa and Zack's figures will eventually be released outside of Japan. Cloud, Aerith, and Sephiroth all got similar posable figures in the collection when Remake was released and are still available now on the US Square Enix store. Not only does that mean Rebirth's Tifa and Zack figures should eventually follow them, but they should stay in stock indefinitely.
Prepare for your timelines to be filled with Final Fantasy 7 content for the foreseeable future as everyone who has been waiting
