Google's Circle to Search feature arrived earlier this year with the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, then eventually rolled out for all Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 models. As promised, the fancy AI tool will start rolling out to more Pixel phones, tablets, and Galaxy phones later this week.
If you have an older Google Pixel 6 series, a Pixel tablet, or select Samsung Galaxy phones, you can expect this feature to hit your device in the coming days. The company just announced that Circle to Search is "currently rolling out to more Android devices, including Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7a and Samsung Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5 and Tab S9 series." That's a pretty big list, and we're surprised to see mid-range models like Samsung's Galaxy S23 FE get in on the action. Furthermore, Google confirmed it'll also come to the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet.
While there are countless ways to use Google Search, Circle to Search kicks things up a notch. It's essentially an AI-powered system-wide feature where you can quickly search for anything displayed on your screen. Once your phone or tablet has the feature, long-press the home button or gesture bar, then tap or draw a circle around any subject. Google will quickly do a search and then share a slew of helpful results with descriptions, more information, places to buy said product, etc.
This is great news for those with older Pixel devices and owners of the Galaxy S23 series. When you combine all the Galaxy AI features hitting more devices with the One UI 6.1 update later this month, Samsung's recent models are getting several fun new features. However, remember that just because Google and Samsung are now promising seven years of updates, it doesn't mean you'll always get the latest features.
