Stellar Blade doesn't have just one ending - it has three. Each one changes the outcome for the characters greatly and has a different method of unlocking as you get towards the end of the game.
In fact, the methods of achieving the different endings are so varied that, at the time of writing, the early Stellar Blade players at TheGamer still haven't unlocked one of them. No doubt all of the game's secrets will be unlocked soon, but it goes to show that Stellar Blade is perhaps much less linear than expected, with player choice giving you a different ending.
There are no explicit story spoilers for Stellar Blade below, but look away now if you want to go into the game completely fresh.
Not only will the endings give you different story outcomes for Eve and the gang, but they will also affect the final boss you go up against - and who survives that encounter. So if you want the full experience, it looks like you'll have to beat the game a few times - or at least reload your old save file before the point of no return to see the other two endings.
In fact, delving into slight spoilers here, one of the endings is incredibly sequel baity, outright stating that the journey "continues". So, it looks like developer Shift Up is gunning on Stellar Blade performing well enough to turn into a full series, with more stories planned even ahead of the first game's launch.
That's a fair assumption to make when Stellar Blade has already attracted a lot of attention. Sure, much of that attention is directed at the protagonist, Eve, although the lead developer does think you'd be better off covering her up in the game - it's better for her stats. Whatever the reason, its a good situation for a new IP from a young studio to find itself in.
