The Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth hype continues. Even the excitement surrounding the release of Dragon's Dogma 2 hasn't slowed it down all that much, and since there is so much to do in Rebirth, many of us are still slowly making our way across the grasslands, through Costa Del Sol, and beyond. Whether you're still on your journey or you're done, if you love Final Fantasy 7, you likely want more. The wait for the next game will be a long one, but the wait for Cloud's mini static figure is already over.
Well, sort of. Pre-orders for the figure are now open on Amazon, but the little Clouds won't be shipped until the end of November. Despite the Rebirth label, they also appear to be the same static figures that were released following the success of Remake. That's not necessarily a bad thing. Cloud's appearance hasn't really changed between games so the figure is still accurate. As accurate as a mini static figure can be anyway.
Unlike full-sized static figures, the collection's minis are smaller and less detailed. So much so with the Cloud figure that it almost makes it look like the polygonal OG Final Fantasy 7 version of the protagonist. Again, not necessarily a bad thing, especially when looking at the price of the minis compared to the full-sized, intricately detailed static options. Square Enix's Cloud Strife static mini figure is based on the lead character's design in Final Fantasy Remake and Final Fantasy Rebirth. The figure can be adjusted so Cloud is either reaching for the Buster Sword on his back or holding it down by his side.
The other thing that sets Cloud's static mini apart from the regular static figures is your ability to change its pose. Your Cloud can have its arm reaching over its shoulder, hand on the handle of its Buster Sword, or you can have the Buster Sword in Cloud's hand and down by the figure's side,
