Pokemon Sleep and the Hyatt Hotel Corporation have partnered to create a Pokemon Sleep-themed room for fans to stay in. The entire room, in addition to the hotel's menu, have been customized as a way of celebrating the first anniversary of the Pokemon Sleep app.
Pokemon Sleep is a bit unusual in the realm of Pokemon games and apps. While most Pokemon titles are games first and foremost, Pokemon Sleep is designed to be a way of tracking and improving one's sleep patterns. By recording the player's sleep, Pokemon in the game flock to a snoozing island Snorlax to take a nap. After the recording is complete, the player can recruit the Pokemon to their team, who can then find ingredients for creating meals for Snorlax, as well as providing additional bonuses in the game.
Pokemon Sleep's emphasis on sleeping and eating have been highlighted at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. From July 1 through September 1, the hotel is offering a Pokemon Sleep-themed room. The room is decked out with Pokemon plush toys and a mini campsite emulating the ones found in the app. Pokemon fans who stay in the room will be able to take home some of the fun with them, as well. Four normal-sized Pokemon plushies are added to every room, which fans can take home at the end of their stay.
In addition, a giveaway bag will be given to guests that contains a Pokemon-themed t-shirt, reusable mini drink bottle, herbal tea, and bath salts to unwind with. For big fans of Pokemon and Snorlax in particular, staying in the room should be quite a treat, but being able to take home a piece of the experience should also appeal to fans.
While the room and take-home bonuses are likely to please, the hotel is also offering a themed menu in its restaurant. The menu includes decorated Pokemon cookies, themed beverages, desserts, and burgers, with one featuring a Pikachu design and another featuring Snorlax. The designs appear to be partially based off the food recipes in Pokemon Sleep, so fans can try out
