Artist Gives Pokemon McDonald's-Themed Makeovers

A Pokemon fan produced creative designs that transformed Mr. Mime, Grimer, Psyduck, Krookodile, Tangela, and Lunatone into McDonald's mascots. The Pokemon community is known for its immense creativity in giving new forms to its favorite critters. Every day, Pokemon fans create fan art, with some standing out for making mashups that go beyond the idea of turning Pokemon into other Pokemon.

In the past,Pokemon fan art has given Rayquaza, Koraidon, and Miraidon a Monster Hunter makeover, transforming the trio into fierce creatures in the style of the Capcom franchise. In an unexpected crossover, an imaginative Pokemon fan turned Gimmighoul into one of Ben 10's characters. Other designs shared by the community followed more nostalgic routes, combining Pokemon with Dragon Ball, and Yu-Gi-Oh, and turning the original trio of starters into Digimon. The Pokemon community is often surprising with its ideas, and this time a talented fan has given some critters iconic designs.

Reddit user Unibee_Art turned Mr. Mime, Grimer, Psyduck, Krookodile, Tangela, and Lunatone into the famous McDonald's mascots. With the amusing name «McVariants,» the fan art shows Mr. Mime is Ronald McDonald, given an outfit in the style of the clown who is McDonald's primary mascot. The artist combined Grimer and Grimace, Ronnie's best friend, in a clever twist as they both have the same color and very similar names. By mixing Birdie the Early Bird and Psyduck, the artist has given McDonald's first female mascot a Pokemon version with the same outfit as her counterpart.

The second half of the fan art shows Krookodile as Hamburglar, wearing a cape, hat, baggy tie, and colors generally reminiscent of the character. Tangela became one of the Fry Guys, a trio created to promote McDonald's fries made up of three pompoms, one blue, yellow, and red, with eyes and roller skates. The final design is Lunatone, a Gen 3 Pokemon that isn't exactly that useful, but which in the fan art became Mac Tonight, earning the
