Pokemon Fan Designs Water-Type Sudowoodo

A Pokemon fan has recently designed a new Water-type version of Sudowoodo. Pokemon fan art is cherished by many people in the game’s community, and giving new types to classic Pokemon is among the most popular forms for creating exciting new designs with clever twists.

Sudowoodo is a pretty memorable creature that first appeared in Pokemon Gold and Silver. Despite looking like a tree, Sudowoodo is a Rock-type Pokemon that could originally be found blocking a road on Route 36, acting similarly to Snorlax in the previous generation. After the player wets the lone Sudowoodo using the Squirtbottle they picked in Goldenrod City, they can fight it, and maybe capture it. This makes the tree-like creature pretty rare, as it’s the only time players may be able to catch it.

Now, a Pokemon fan called Just-Drawing-Mons decided to give an interesting spin to the classic Sudowoodo by redesigning the monster as a Water-type creature. Just-Drawing-Mons’ Sudowoodo seems greatly inspired by a sea cucumber, and it changes its brown and green colors to blue and light pink. The creature keeps an overall similar shape, but the aspect of its skin and hands are fairly different, not looking like wood or leaves anymore, but parts of a sea creature instead.

This is far from the first time that a Pokemon fan has given an alternative type to Sudowoodo, though. Last year, another fan artist designed Sudowoodo as a Rock/Ghost-type Pokemon. This curious version of the creature was named Shamshamam, and had the ability to work as a puppeteer. While the base of the Sudowoodo’s body still looked a lot like the original version in this artwork, its secondary Ghost type was represented by a giant spooky skeleton-like figure that resembled a puppet.

Last year, another fan decided to reimagine Sudowoodo as a human. In this art piece, the artist turned the Rock-type Pokemon into a male human with traditional festive Korean clothes. The design retained the same colors, giving the human version brownish
