The Fallout show brings back a character from New Vegas, albeit in a very different form than we see him in the game. Given the show's ending, we might even see him appear in more flashbacks in the next season, despite the show largely focussing on original characters.
Spoilers for the Fallout show and Fallout: New Vegas ahead.
In the season one finale, Fallout brings back Robert Edwin House, or as most fans will know him, Mr. House. He doesn't appear for long and doesn't have many lines at all, but it's unmistakably him, with his old-timey moustache and slicked-back hair.
Mr. House appears in the show as part of a meeting with Vault-Tec, attended by representatives of other large corporations across the United States. Here, the companies share different ideas for the vaults, revealing that they were behind the sick experiments we find in the games. This is also the moment we're told that Vault-Tec plans to drop the bombs itself, ensuring a return on everyone's investments.
If you've seen the finale, you'll no doubt remember that the final shot we see is of New Vegas itself, although it looks a little worse for wear. While at this point in the timeline, Mr. House is probably dead (he has to die in all but one of New Vegas' endings), this opens up the possibility of him appearing in flashbacks in the next season. After all, the series is made for those who haven't played the games too, so they'd need to be clued in on the origins of New Vegas as a setting, and you can't tell that story without Mr. House.
In the show, Mr. House is played by Anthony Misiano. His original actor, René Auberjonois, provided the iconic voice in New Vegas but sadly passed away in 2019. The version of the character we get in the show is on the younger side, so we don't hear the same gruffness that we got in Auberjonois' performance. This is also the first time we get to see him pre-war, and he's looking much healthier than his condition in New Vegas.
We'll have to wait and see
