There are plenty of stupid ways to accidentally throw your life away in Helldivers 2. You could stand under a dropship, drown in a lake, or run into an exploding bush, three things that personally killed me during my first few drops. I also accidentally burned my Helldiver alive by running through some ankle high flames, completely unaware of the recent complaints about how quickly fire is killing people after the game's latest patch.
Fire damge is beomcing more and more of a problem in Helldivers 2, to the point where players are starting to get pretty sick of it and are calling for nerfs. One such player is Reddit user PandaManLTOU0, who recently shared a video on the game's subreddit of themselves getting instantly killed by a jet of fire, despite wearing heavy armor and coming into contact with the flames for less than a second.
Usually, you're given time to heal or dive to get rid of the flames on your body, but these flames didn't even give PandaManLTOU0 the chance. To make things even worse, they're at full health when the flames make contact, so there's literally nothing they could have done to prevent them from becoming a roasted Helldiver.
Obviously, even on the higher difficulties, it feels a little unfair to be wiped out by something so quickly, so fans have naturally started calling on developer Arrowhead to either fix the problem, or at least nerf the amount of damage the fire does over time. You can find several people in the replies to PandaManLTOU0's video calling fire damage "overttuned" and the "biggest issue with the game" right now.
Others think that this sheer level of damage is just a bug or something that Arrowhead can easily fix. Players are speculating that flames can deal headshot damage - which makes very little sense but would explain PandaManLTOU0's instant death - or that flames are unintentionally hitting multiple times in a similar fashion to the rocket bug before it was patched.
