An official Pokemon account has put together a video promoting the Nintendo 3DS, just hours before the servers are taken down. The video makes no mention of this, simply showing off a Pokemon-themed 3DS at an event this weekend, as if it isn't about to lose access to all of its online functionality.
The video itself is short and sweet, showing whoever's behind the Pokemon UK social media account walking around the Pokemon Europe International Championships this weekend, all while recording footage on their Nintendo 3DS. Online services for the Nintendo Wii were shut down gradually, starting with online multiplayer and video streaming in 2014. The Wii Shop Channel closed in 2019 .
In better news, the 3D's StreetPass feature should still work, for the most part. You'll still be able to open the app and bump into other players' Miis - you'll just have to find someone walking around with a
