Plot Twist’s surreal Metroidvania The Last Case of Benedict Fox Definitive Editionreleases on March 26, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers are getting the new upgraded version of the game for free. The Last Case of Benedict Fox launched on Xbox Game Pass on day one, joining the catalog of titles available on the service in April 2023.
Combining a Burton-esque art style with a Lovecraftian vibe, The Last Case of Benedict Fox follows the adventures of a self-proclaimed detective with a demonic familiar. The eponymous Benedict, on the hunt for answers about his father’s death, ventures into another dimension and must solve puzzles and do a little platforming to make it through. Many gamers have enjoyed Benedict Fox’s intriguing lore and rich atmosphere, and Xbox Game Pass users have been lucky enough to be able to enjoy it with their subscription since launch.
On March 26, at 9 AM PST, the definitive edition of The Last Case of Benedict Fox will become available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers as a free upgrade. This new complete edition of the game will introduce adjusted animations for smoother and more responsive movement, as well as refined combat and a new combat arena. Additional puzzles and story content will also become available to players via the upgraded version of the game.
On the same day that this complete version launches on Xbox Game Pass, The Last Case of Benedict Fox will also release on PS5, so gamers on that platform will finally be able to enjoy the dark, ambient world created by Plot Twist in its definitive form.
Every month, a number of new games join the Xbox Game Pass lineup of titles available to subscribers, while several games also leave the service. Multiple releases have already been added to Xbox Game Pass in March, including Supermassive Games’ The Quarry, Control: Ultimate Edition, No More Heroes 3, and Lightyear Frontier, which launched in early access on March 19.
Nine games have also been confirmed to be coming to Xbox Game Pass in April 2024.
