Apple CEO Tim Cook teases ‘Pencil 3’ along with new iPads ahead of May 7 special event

Apple enthusiasts have something to look forward to next month as CEO Tim Cook hinted at the unveiling of a new Apple Pencil 3. With the company scheduling a special event on May 7, it's evident that the focus will be on the iPad lineup.

In a recent social media post, Cook teased the upcoming event with an image featuring the Apple Pencil and the caption, "Pencil us in for May 7!" This playful hint, combined with the pencil emoji, strongly suggests that a new Apple Pencil is on the horizon, reported9to5mac.

The last significant update to the Apple Pencil was in 2018, introducing a sleek matte design, enhanced grip, and magnetic charging. This time around, rumours suggest exciting new features. One of the most anticipated additions is the integration of the Find My feature, enabling users to locate their misplaced Apple Pencil similar to AirPods and AirTags. Additionally, there are whispers about interchangeable magnetic tips and a possible "Squeeze" gesture for quick actions.

While the spotlight is on the Apple Pencil, the event is also expected to unveil new iPad models. The iPad Air 6 is rumoured to sport the M2 chip and, for the first time, a larger 12.9-inch display.
