A new illustration featuring the main character Tidus of Square Enix's Final Fantasy 10 has been unveiled by the title's character designer Tetsuya Nomura. A live kabuki stage play about the video game will be showing in Japan, and the new artwork will be one of the featured highlights of the exclusive Final Fantasy 10 event.
Though rumors of a third game in the Final Fantasy 10 series continue to float within the game's community, nothing conclusive has ever been announced by Square Enix. Given that the Japanese video game company is busy with development of upcoming titles like Final Fantasy 16 and FF7 Rebirth, it is not surprising for older games such as Final Fantasy 10 to take the backseat. Nevertheless, fans of the 10th title in the Final Fantasy series are likely very happy that its original character designer has come out of the woods to produce new illustrations that the community can ogle at for the upcoming event.
Final Fantasy 10 Blitzball is Now Part of Star Wars Canon
On the official Twitter account of the kabuki stage play, the organizers posted a single illustration featuring Final Fantasy 10's main character Tidus. Drawn in the style that Nomura's fans know and love, the character's head and face are the highlights of the artwork. Fans will also probably notice that Tidus's hair is styled differently, in the way that it would look in the kabuki play. Unfortunately, only Tidus's image has been released by the event's team, so fans have to use their imagination to visualize what the other characters would look like in the kabuki style.
