In the last couple of days, many staff members from Final Fantasy 16 have been on a media tour to promote and answer questions about the upcoming game. This includes a preview demo of Final Fantasy 16, clarifying details about its combat and story, and revealing its playtime. One of the people who was interviewed about the upcoming RPG was Ryota Suzuki, the game's combat director, who talked about how Final Fantasy 16 took an action-RPG styled approach to battles.
Ryota Suzuki was formerly a part of Capcom, working there for nearly 20 years before leaving to join Square Enix in 2020. His previous works include high-octane action titles, such as Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Devil May Cry 4, Dragon's Dogma, and Devil May Cry 5, just to name a few. Considering this, it's no surprise to see that Final Fantasy 16's combat has elements of Devil May Cry within it. With DMC5 and FF16 having the same combat director, it may spring to mind the question of who would win between the game's two protagonists.
