Final Fantasy XI opens part one of the final chapter of The Voracious Resurgence this month. The most recent update also refreshed Ambuscade, and made adjustments to the chat filter.
With FFXI , The Voracious Resurgence storyline has been going on for a while now, the new chapter is Chapter 11, part 1. They're nearly done with this saga, and we’ll see what the team has next up, but the long-running MMORPG is still planning for the future.
This chapter is split so they could get it out faster to let the community progress in the adventure. This time, there’s a betrayer in Castle Zvahl, and it will be up to you to stop them and unseal the gate. In order to startthe new chapter, you’ll have to have met a couple of prerequisites, like completing the Odin’s Eye quest and speaking to the moogle about the Mog House. After that, it’s time to stop some terrible plans.
The update also refreshes the Records of Eminence and Ambuscade for the monthly shifts. For the Ambuscade, the current challenges got a few tweaks on each difficulty. Some of the changes include the amounts of time for enemies to respawn, damage taken, and other tweaks to the enemies like not retaining levels on respawn. The changes affect both intense and normal difficulties, with different changes for each.
The update also expands the chat filter functionality to try and get a better handle on Words that are allowable within certain contexts, to also reflect case sensitivity, spaces, and sometimes in otherwise prohibited term that might be in a player name in a way that is otherwise harmless.
They've proposed other potential ways they might adjust this in the future, so this is an ongoing effort.
