It seems that experience has slowed down, and players are noticing! Multiple players on the official Diablo 4 forums and Discord are reporting a significant halt to experience progression at soon as the mid to early 70s. After testing, WoWHead has calculated the current rates of experience. Below are two forum posts — one posted by one of Wowhead's Necromancer writers a few days ago, the other being the most recent post referring to this issue. Forum Post with findingsForum post describing the leveling feel Comparing this with notes from Youtube's Raxxanterax from June 28th, 2023. A Blind Burrows at +9 level yielded 1.84 Million xp. This is over a 40% difference from today's +10s! When running a Normal Blind Burrows dungeon, we gained ~550,000 xp. When running a T49 Uldur's Cave, we gained ~1.1 Million xp while at level 77. What changed in 1.1.0?According to the Patch Notes and Blue post, the experience changed from a +3 monster level to receive the maximum experience boost of +25% to +10 monster level for +15%. Judging from this, we should expect 1.5 million experience on average per dungeon if you are clearing +10 Monster level Nightmares. There is something to note with tomorrow's 1.1.1 patch. The monster density seems to be ~30-40% larger than prior. So, this may offset the experience nerfs in some fashion! But, only for the lackluster dungeons — so time will tell.
