The Galaxy Z Flip 5 Impresses Everyone With Over 274,00 Folds, Surpassing Even Samsung’s Official Number While Motorola Razr Plus Fails After Less Than Half The Folds

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is easily my favorite phone to come out this year, and while I like the phone mainly because of the cover display, the hinge is apparently very durable. Samsung has mentioned in official documentation that the phone is rated at 200,000 folds, and this was verified by Bureau Veritas, a certification company. But it turns out that the phone is much more durable than the official numbers suggested, as it has managed to beat the Motorola Razr Plus, its nearest competitor.

YouTuber Mrkeybrd decided to test a real-life test involving humans and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Motorola Razr Plus to see how long both phones will last when they are folded and unfolded. At the time of writing, Samsung's clamshell foldable has crossed 274,000 folds, whereas Motorola is dead in the water after just 126,300 folds.

Now, that is not to say that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 didn't run into the issue. The phone did lose the ability to remain completely unfolded at a 90-degree angle, but this happened after 223,000 folds. 24,000 folds after the official number of 200,000 that Samsung gave us at the release now, and now that the phone is standing beyond 274,000, it is still working perfectly fine. The Motorola? Not so much. Now, this should not come as a surprise to anyone because the Galaxy Z Flip, in general, is a phone that manages to surpass expectations, as it has proven a number of times.
