The rumor mill surrounding the Galaxy S24 series is in full swing. Every day we get new reports about what Samsung is planning to do with the latest generation of flagships, and even though the devices are a couple of months away, it is important to know that the development process is still at some stage, which means that a lot of information regarding the new devices has started coming forward.
Now, over the past couple of weeks, we have heard a lot about the Galaxy S24 Ultra, including a preliminary spec-sheet leak, but not much love has been shown to the base variants. That changes now because we have some fresh information which might as well be one of the most significant design changes made by Samsung.
According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S24 and the S24+ are getting a new middle frame design and will now have flatter sides. Like the ones we see on iPhones, and honestly, I do like this design choice. Now, if you haven't been paying attention, the base and plus variants come with a flat-screen, so it makes no sense for Samsung to have rounded sides because the flatter sides on a flat screen will make the phone even gripper as opposed to the rounded sides. The ultra variant, on the other hand, is only going to have a flat top and bottom, but the sides will remain rounded to better handle the curved screen.
Now, it is worth noting that we are hearing the Galaxy S24 series should still be taken with a pinch of salt because there is a chance that Samsung could end up changing things. But it is also safe to say that sooner or later, the company had to change the devices and how they look. A design change will help the company differentiate between its own devices.
