We have seen the sun! And it was good! It’s going away now though so you can all retreat into the safety of your gaming rooms again. We’ve also been looking at our Gamescom appointments for a couple of week’s time, and things are looking very exciting! You can be sure that we’ll have a ton of coverage from the conference, so that’s something to look forward to as well.
But before swanning off to Cologne, I’ve been playing two RPGs in the shape of Baldurs Gate 3 and Final Fantasy 16 and they couldn’t be more different. I think FF16 might just be stretching the term RPG to its limit too. Besides that, I’ve been playing Legend Bowl which I really liked, and I’m currently putting together a review of Amazon’s Luna streaming service because I’m a bit like that.
Before we got derailed by talking about cake and remembering Fat Princess, Gamoc reviewed Atlas Fallen, which was mildly disappointing as it didn’t deliver on its potential, before returning to Diablo IV, which as its own problems – “I got disconnected from Diablo servers last night whilst I was killing the boss of the final capstone dungeon, for which I was nine levels too low. I died eight times getting there due to one-shot deaths, so it took 45 minutes and the boss had ten seconds of health left. This is why online only games are stupid.”
Nic B hasn’t played all that much this past week, because he’s had other priorities, like getting ready for his wedding! That said, he did head off to Pokémon Go Fest 2023 in London, gathering together with friends and walking a whopping 46km last weekend!
Ade’s been playing Gord for review , which is “a bit nasty”, but not in a gameplay way. We’ll wait until he delivers his verdict next week, but let’s just say it sent us down
