However, one tipster states that the 3x optical zoom will feature a massive change from the 10MP one present on the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Despite missing out on a 5x optical zoom upgrade, Ice Universe has an update that should put a smile on his face and people who are reading his post. The tipster has been extremely vocal on the micro-blogging platform on Samsung’s lack of efforts in making the Galaxy lineup extra competitive, but with a 50MP camera arriving to the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s 3x optical zoom, he might be able to take back his words somewhat.
The exact sensor details were not shared, but a jump from 10MP to 50MP represents nearly five times an improvement in image resolution, so whatever picture is taken from the Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to look immaculate. Moreover, when the 3x optical zoom is used, the increased image resolution should mitigate a loss in quality. Looking at this upgrade, it was entirely possible for Samsung to use a 5x zoom lens, but an intricate process like this would have incurred a massive bill for the company.
