Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 has received an update, and while it doesn’t add the long-awaited Photo Mode (coming in Spring), it does adjust the minimum PC requirements. Or the GPU requirements, at least.
PC players now require an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT to run the game at 1080p/30 FPS and Low quality. Compare this to launch when it needed a GeForce RTX 2060 or a Radeon RX 6600. All other system requirements remain the same, but this helps lower the barrier to entry for those on PC.
Alan Wake 2 is also available for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Check out our review here. It sold 1.3 million units worldwide, as of early February 2024, with sales 50 percent higher thanControl. Along with Photo Mode, Remedy is working on two paid expansions – Night Springs and Lake House, with the former launching this Spring. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
We've been optimizing the PC version of Alan Wake 2, and as a result the minimum PC system requirements have been lowered. Please check the updated image!
These changes take effect with update 1.0.16.1, out on PC now.
