April's PS Plus Essential games have been officially announced, and as per usual, we're looking at three titles spread across PS5 and PS4. At a glance, however, we're tempted to say that this is one of the weaker months in recent memory.
We start with Immortals of Aveum. A decent game by almost all accounts, but this magical shooter really struggled make an impact when it launched just last year. It was met with lukewarm reviews and poor sales — but then PS Plus might be the perfect place for such a product, allowing more players to try the game for themselves.
Immortals is flanked by Minecraft Legends — a real-time strategy take on the eternally popular brand — and indie action platformer Skul: The Hero Slayer. The latter is actually held in rather high regard amongst those who have played it.

But what do you think of April's PS Plus Essential games? As always, vote in our polls, and then give us an honest opinion in the comments section below.
Robert (or Rob if you're lazy) has been a fan of PlayStation since the 90s, when Tekken 2 introduced him to the incredible world of video games. He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, he's played 'em all — a little too much, some might say.
Nothing at all for me
Probably skip all of these. I think Immortals is a nice type of game to throw on Plus, but it looks so generic to me, I have literally no interest in it at all.
I'm not into Minecraft at all, so a spinoff of that is meh.
Skul looks kind of neat and has good reviews, but I still haven't finished Rogue Legacy 2, so I just don't think I want another platforming rogue-lite to play.
Yeah, quite happy tbh. Been meaning to pick up Immortals on a sale, so that's a bonus being on plus, and Skul looks interesting too. Good selection.
Eh, sort of a crap selection. Not sure if I’ll even redeem them
