A new trailer for Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact (yes, that's really the name) has revealed two new characters who will be on the roster - Uvogin and Machi Komacine.
2024 is already shaping up to be one of the biggest years for anime adaptations in recent memory thanks to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, but DBZ isn't the only series that looks set to be getting a (hopefully) great game. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Eighting, the developers behind Marvel vs. Capcom and Naruto: Clash of Ninja, is making a 2D fighting game based on Hunter x Hunter.
We've known about the Hunter x Hunter fighting game for some time now, but we only just got our first proper look at the game in action this week. Yesterday, footage from a gameplay demo was shared online, which showcased Gon, Killua, Leorio, Kurapika Hisoka, and Netero in action.
The gameplay demo also teased that the full game will have a roster of around 16 characters at launch, which meant that there were 10 left to reveal. This has garnered a mixed reaction from some fans, who seem to think it's too small for a game based on Hunter x Hunter. On the other hand, others have suggested that Eighting managing to get 16 fighters from the series is a mean feat considering how few there really are.
Even if there's a lot of discourse surrounding Nen Impact's roster size right now, we at least have confirmation of two more characters who are going to be playable at launch. Just after the demo was shared, a new trailer for Nen Impact was released, giving us our best look yet at the gameplay. It also showed Uvogin and Machi as playable fighters, which means we now know half of the roster.
We sadly don't get to see either member of the Phantom Troupe actually do anything aside from getting the snot kicked out of them, but we do know they're going to be playable in Nen Impact. Here's hoping we find out more about them soon.
