Assassin's Creed Mirage was launched in October 2023. Since the launch, most fans reacted positively to the game, though it was one of the shorter titles compared to Assassin's Creed Valhalla and its predecessors. The story features Basim Ibn-Ishaq as he becomes a master assassin. The game is set in 9th century Baghdad, and it's absolutely stunning. While fans don't know where Basim's path takes him after AC Mirage's story ends, the devs made it pretty clear that this is not the last time players see him.
On April 24, Ubisoft Bordeaux's creative director Stephane Boudon and art director Jeal-Luc Sala held an AMA session on Reddit to engage with fans. One of the Reddit users asked the devs whether players could expect a DLC or any story expansion for Assassin's Creed Mirage. In reply, Stephane mentioned that they meant to make it a standalone title. He went on to explain their intent by saying, «However, we have ideas on how we could extend the story of Basim, surely. But as of today, no post launch content is planned for Mirage.» This means players can perhaps expect to see more of the protagonist, as the devs have «a lot to say about Basim,» whether it's a cameo like the fight scene in Assassin's Creed Valhalla or a full AAA feature. At this point, the developers are eager to «explore new horizons,» according to Stephane, though it's not clear if those horizons will involve Basim.
