Nintendo Switch 2 Won’t Be as Big as the Steam Deck; New Joy-Cons, Pro Controller Compatibility Detailed

Earlier today, Spanish publication Vandal posted a new report on the yet-to-be-revealed new console from Nintendo, including information obtained from accessory manufacturers who reportedly could "touch" the console without seeing it to understand its dimensions and design. According to the report, the Switch 2 will be bigger than its predecessor but still smaller than the Steam Deck.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will also feature an important design change over its predecessor, as the Joy-Con controllers will be magnetically attached to the system, doing away with the rail system of the current console. Due to this, the old Joy-Con controllers will not be compatible with the new system. The current Pro Controller, on the other hand, will be compatible with the upcoming console, which is great news.
The new Nintendo Switch 2 report also covers the system's possible release date. The general consensus seems to be for an early 2025 release date, but at this point, with so many conflicting reports, it's really hard to tell when the system will actually be released.
