New Alan Wake 2 PC system requirements were shared online today by Remedy Entertainment as a new patch optimizing rendering for older GPUs went live.
As patch 1.0.16.1 optimizes rendering for older GPUs that do not support mesh shaders, the game's GPU minimum requirements were changed to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 and AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT. The changes introduced in the update also improve performance for GPUs that do support mesh shaders.
The latest Alan Wake 2 patch doesn't introduce any other change, so the game's new version is identical to the previous in terms of gameplay features. Not that it needed much else, as the game is an excellent survival horror game that all fans of the genre should experience, as I highlighted in my review.
With its excellent trippy horror story, memorable characters, amazing atmosphere, and some of the best visuals in gaming to date, Alan Wake 2 is a game like few others and Remedy Entertainment's best. It took 13 years for the acclaimed writer to come back, but the long wait was worth it. We could have hardly wished for a better sequel, despite the derivative survival horror gameplay holding the experience back a bit.
Alan Wake 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S worldwide. Read more on wccftech.com
