With Dragon's Dogma 2 currently enthralling players worldwide, it might seem too soon for some to contemplate another open world epic from storied developer Capcom, but here we are. Reliable leakster Dusk Golem let slip a few morsels from sources on Discord, and they seem pretty confident that this one will arrive in Q1 of 2025, writing, «I don't think even GTA VI would make them delay it.»
Monster Hunter Wilds was revealed in December, but we still know little about it. According to Dusk Golem (thanks, Eurogamer), it will be «fully open world,» something Monster Hunter fans have been dreaming of forever, as previous games have always been segmented into smaller, separate explorable areas: «That was [Capcom's] idea from day one. The entire game revolves around it, from story to endgame.»
According to Dusk Golem (AKA AestheticGamer), Wilds has been in development since 2019 and will feature «a lot of the scrapped ideas from World.» Wilds' director, Yuya Tokuda, who served in the same capacity on Monster Hunter World, has been given «complete freedom [for the development of Wilds], pretty much no questions asked… by far the biggest game they ever attempted.»
