Xbox Game Pass is making four more games available to subscribers, including a day-one launch title and three additions for Core members. Xbox Game Pass Core, which launched in September 2023, replaced Xbox Live Gold and did away with the two free games subscribers received each month. Instead, for the same price, Core offers a catalog of more than 25 games for members to enjoy at their leisure, and the selection of titles changes about two to three times per year.
In addition to the appeal of Xbox Game Pass Core, PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also get access to many titles on launch day. The day one game coming to Game Pass on May 9 is Little Kitty, Big City, an open-world adventure that puts players in the role of an adorable black cat lost in the city. On August 8, subscribers will gain access to SteamWorld Heist 2 on launch day. The turn-based adventure game stars Captain Leeway and his crew as they set out to discover why water has suddenly become deadly.
Before those two releases, though, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can try out Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes when it launches day one on April 23. A role-playing game directed and produced by Suikoden creator Yoshitaka Murayama, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is already getting great reviews, sitting at a “Strong” rating on OpenCritic and “Generally Favorable” on Metacritic at the time of writing. The Suikoden spiritual successor got its start as a Kickstarter project and is being praised for its epic adventure and huge cast of characters that harken back to the days of classic JRPGs.
