Every month brings new games to the Xbox Game Pass service, with the regularly changing roster in Microsoft's subscription offering plenty of titles for different types of players to enjoy. These can be titles from long-running franchises, indie gems, or titles from Microsoft's first-party studios which are added at no extra cost upon their launch, making Game Pass one of the better deals in gaming.
These titles can be announced long in advance, which is often the case with the main "", which come at the start and the middle of each month. There are some exceptions, however, such as the late additions of , which joined Game Pass suddenly in late April as part of the long-running deal with EA Play, and the roguelike, which joined the subscription on April 30.
Xbox Wire announced the arrival of four titles for May 2024's first wave of Xbox Game Pass titles, from the first in Crystal Dynamics' reboot,, the first-person detective mystery title,, and Starbreeze Studio's award-winning puzzler,. Coming to Xbox Game Pass upon its launch during May 2024's first wave is, an adventure title in which players assume the role of a cat lost in the city, making friends with stray animals and leaving a fair amount of chaos in their wake as they try to get back home.
There are several other titles that had previously been confirmed to be joining Xbox Game Pass in May but haven't been included in the Wave 1 announcement. These include, the highly anticipated follow-up to Ninja Theory's 2017 psychological horror game, the twin-stick shooter and the acclaimed puzzler platformer , which will be coming to Xbox and the Microsoft Store on PC after launching as a PlayStation and Steam exclusive in 2023.
