Square Enix's long-running fantasy action role-playing franchise made in collaboration with Disney, Kingdom Hearts, is finally coming to Steam. It's been given a release date of June 13, which is less than a month away, and a trailer has is set to premiere on May 21.
Since debuting all the way back in 2002 on the PlayStation 2, Kingdom Hearts has captivated fans for more than two decades across several systems, including the Game Boy, PSP, Nintendo DS and PlayStation 4. Now, the entire series will be purchaseable on Steam. It was previously relegated to the Epic Games Store.
The announcement comes by way of Square Enix's official blog as well as its social media channels. The all-encompassing package of Kingdom Hearts games will be called Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece. Oh, and there will be an exclusive Steam Keyblade.
When June 13 rolls around, the following compilations will be made available for purchase:
The Integrum Masterpiece collection will provide all of the above compilations, though fans can buy each edition separately if they so choose.
Square Enix notes on its blog that the 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX compilation will have textural updates to its graphics. The rest of the games do not have any changes outlined, though given that they are newer releases, changes seem doubtful.
As for the Steam-exclusive Keyblade, it's called "Dead of Night," and it will be given to those who purchase either the Integrum Masterpiece compilation or Kingdom Hearts III +Re Mind DLC package. There's no info on what the "Dead of Night" Keyblade will look like, but it'll probably resemble Square Enix's other platform-exclusive offerings, which are themed around the platform itself.
Noticeably absent from Square's announcement is Melody of Memory. It's available for purchase via Epic and playable on most modern consoles, but isn't listed as coming to Steam. The rhythm action game isn't necessarily a must-play, but it is still a nice adventure, featuring over a hundred
