The official Kingdom Hearts Missing Link website has been updated, which confirms that pre-registration details are "coming soon", suggesting that a release this year is on the cards.
Kingdom Hearts fans might not have been blessed with any information about the long-awaited fourth game in the series (aside from leaks, anyway), but at least Keyblade Masters have been fed with some sparse news about Missing Link. Just last month, a second closed beta test for iOS users took place, which included a bunch of new story details and mechanics.
That second closed beta test had a lot of fans convinced that Missing Link wasn't too far away from release and might end up coming out in 2024 after all. While that hasn't been officially confirmed just yet, an update that was made to both the English and Japanese Missing Link websites does suggest that the next Kingdom Hearts is nearly here.
As spotted by Kingdom Hearts YouTuber TheGamersJoint on Twitter, the official English website for Missing Link has been given a small update that adds an interesting message to the front page. That message reveals that pre-registration details for the game are going to be "coming soon".
This means that, presumably in the next few months, players will be able to sign up to get access to Missing Link, which suggests that the full release won't be much further than that. That's not all, though, as the Japanese website was also given a little update that adds some more information about the game's mechanics, such as how the GPS system works.
Both websites suddenly getting updated out of nowhere (with one even outright saying that pre-registration information is coming soon) does suggest that Missing Link is in the final stretches of development and will likely release at some point this year. It's not clear yet if it'll launch in a beta state (considering it's had closed beta tests in the past), but we do at least know that something is on the horizon.
