Hackers claim to have stolen AMD data
It appears that chip giant AMD is the latest victim of a cyber attack.
That's according to Twitter account Hackmanac – as spotted by PC Mag – which reports to have spotted a group called IntelBroker posting on a hacking forum that it had stolen a load of information from the company earlier this year. Specifically in June, this group claims to have walked away with "future AMD products, spec sheets, employee databases, customer databases, property files, ROMs, source code, firmware, and finances."
IntelBroker has posted screenshots that purport to show the stodlen data it has in its possession.
In a statement, AMD said that it knew about the claims, but appears to not confirm whether it is true or not.
“We are aware of a cybercriminal organization claiming to be in possession of stolen AMD data,” the company told PCMag on Tuesday. “We are working closely with law enforcement officials and a third-party hosting partner to investigate the claim and the significance of the data.”
