A new Elden Ring patch is now live on PC and consoles, introducing new features as well as PvP and PvE, weapons balance changes and more.
The 1.12, which introduces support for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, introduces some welcome quality-of-life changes, such as new map functions and new inventory features, such as a new "Recent Items" tab that allows the user to quickly list all recently obtained items. A new big change is the ability to summon the spectral steed during the Elden Beast boss battle.
Alongside these new features, the latest Elden Ring patch also introduced PvP and PvE balance changes as well as weapons, skills, and Incantations adjustments. General balance adjustments for both PvP and PvE are included in the patch, increasing the speed of certain attacks for Axes, Greataxes, Hammers, Flails, and Reapers, increasing the damage of Whips, and more. Full patch notes can be found on Bandai Namco's official website.
Elden Ring is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and Xbox One. You can learn more about the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion launching later today with my review.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expands the base game by offering more of what made it one of the best open-world games ever. It features a well-sized map dense with secrets to discover, new masterfully designed dungeons, and introduces new, fun tools to help the Tarnished tackle some of the most challenging enemies in the game's dark and brutal world. While the lack of new gameplay mechanics may disappoint some, don't let this deter you. Shadow of the Erdtree is every bit as good as the base game, and it is an essential purchase for all those who loved FromSoftware's amazing action role-playing game.
