Wriothesley definitely rizzed me up in the latest Genshin Impact character demo released by HoYoverse, showcasing some of the abilities of this new character’s abilities. HoYoverse released a new gameplay trailer of the upcoming playable character, Wriothesley, showcasing his unique boxer-esque playstyle. This character unleashes an otherworldly amount of style, with his trailer designed almost to feel like a fighting game. HoYoverse is known for releasing high production value trailers for all of their playable characters, but Wriothesley stole my heart and wallet.
Wriothesley, whose name is aptly pronounced “rizz-thesley,” is a 5-star Cryo Catalyst character designed to function as a main DPS. He’ll deal most of the damage in your team, beating up enemies with the force of his ice cold fists. A Normal Attack focused “boxer-like” gameplay style is only matched by Shikanoin Heizou, a 4-star Anemo character. However, with higher damage and new HP-draining mechanics, fans can enjoy a new brawler game style previously unmatched by Genshin Impact characters.
Wriothesley is able to use his Elemental Skill to empower his Normal Attacks by entering the “Chilling Penalty” state. When in this state, Wriothesley is able to deal more damage with his Normal Attacks, the Forceful Fists of Frost. While in this state, Wriothesley will also lose HP, ensuring that you’ll need some solid defensive utility from your teammates. This character also fulfills a number of different niches, such as the game’s first 5-star Cryo male character and the first Cryo catalyst in the game.
