This has pushed the heroes of Insomniac's universe into some interesting new places, but it also means that several villains have met their ends by the time the credits roll — and even before the start of the game. Surprisingly, though, many of these deaths occur off-screen and may be easily missed if players aren't paying attention during a specific mission.
Warning: This article contains major spoilers for Marvel's Spider-Man 2.The main story of involves Peter, who's trying to hold a stable job while maintaining a solid relationship with Mary Jane, and Miles, who is learning how to be Spider-Man while balancing being a student at Visions Academy. Together, they face off against villains like Venom and Kraven the Hunter. Both Peter and Miles are reeling from the deaths of loved ones, as Peter is still coming to terms with Aunt May's death from the first game and Miles is confronted with the aftermath of his father's death at the hands of Martin Li's Mr. Negative (an important subplot in .) With so much death right from the get-go, it's perhaps odd that other notable deaths occur completely off-screen.

These off-screen villain deaths happen because of Kraven the Hunter and his «Great Hunt,» which he brings to New York City in an attempt to kill and learn from the many villains and heroes there.
