However, one character's transformation within the series may come as a surprise when they return in the recent sequel, at least for those who didn't play 's story DLC.
[Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.] DLC told a story across three episodes that incorporated fan-favorite characters like Black Cat and saw Spider-Man teaming up with Silver Sable and the New York Police Department to stop Hammerhead and his mob. 's base game could largely be played as its own complete narrative as most of the events of this DLC aren't explored in depth in the rest of the series. For example, when Black Cat returns in, she doesn't really interact with Peter, as Mary Jane fills Miles in on how untrustworthy and manipulative she is instead, and Hammerhead isn't mentioned at all.
While was originally advertised mainly as a Black Cat story, once the notorious cat burglar faked her death at the end of its first chapter, it became clear that the real focus was on the fall of Peter's ally in the New York Police Department, Captain Yuri Watanabe. Following the death of many of her officers in a brutal ambush by Hammerhead and an off-the-books undercover sting leading to the death of another of her officers, Yuri begins to take the law into her own hands. This plot point winds up playing a massive role in the DLC.
