Bugbear Entertainment has finally unveiled Wreckfest 2, its next project following 2018's spiritual successor to Flatout, on the latest THQ Nordic Showcase. A couple of years ago, a rumor suggested their new game would be called Stuntfest, but it turned out to be false.
Bugbear is instead making the long-awaited sequel, which will feature a brand new iteration of the ROMU engine to deliver the highest possible fidelity and maximum accuracy in vehicle dynamics simulation and demolition physics.
The big new feature shown today is car customization, which provides players with a lot of freedom in customizing their cars and also enhances sharing possibilities. The Finnish developers also highlighted the vastly improved sound system, which they believe is a game-changer and one of the best in a car racing game.
Overall, Wreckfest 2 will offer several different race modes, a career mode, single player and multiplayer options, challenges, regular content updates, and modding support. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X at an unspecified date, but you can wishlist the game now.
