Many have been pondering the purpose of the strongly speculated PS5 Pro, but perhaps it’ll exist purely to ensure ambitious Korean life sim inZOI runs adequately on console. The upcoming rival to The Sims has largely looked too good to be true until recently, when a bunch of YouTubers and streamers have been going hands on with an early build. It’s real, then – and it looks incredible.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, this is promising a photo realistic experience where you’re in charge of the characters and the cities they inhabit. There’s a dizzying amount of depth to the avatar builder, which you can test out on PC right now. In the full game, once you’re done creating a cast, you’re given the freedom to customise your city as you wish.
Of course, this is a life simulation so unexpected events also occur, but it’s entirely up to you how you respond. Playing God has never looked this good, eh?
And as we alluded to at the top of the article, the title will likely launch on PS5 at a later date. A post on the game’s Discord notes: “[inZOI] is currently on PC (Steam) and is later expected to be on consoles like PS5 and Xbox.” We imagine it’s going to take quite some time for this to arrive, but considering how stale The Sims 4 has gotten, we’re open to the idea of a truly next-gen rival.
