MachineGames, the makers of the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, are over the moon the game is coming to the PS5, as was announced at Gamescom last week. In an interview with Eurogamer.net, design director Jens Andersson cheered when asked about the port, which will launch in Spring 2025. The title was previously planned as an Xbox console exclusive, after Microsoft renegotiated its arrangement with license holder Disney to exclude Sony’s system.
“From MachineGames’ point of view, we are super thrilled and excited over the fact we will be able to be on PlayStation next year as well,” creative director Axel Torvenius exclaimed. “The more people that can play the game – who can see all the passion and love we have put into this project and all the hard work – the merrier.”

Developers will, of course, always want their games to be played by as many people as possible, and there’s the added advantage that PS5’s lack of Game Pass means more copies will probably be sold on Sony’s console, as it won’t be given away as part of a subscription.
The additional great news for PlayStation fans is that, with the title launching a little later on PS5, the developer will have the opportunity to really polish the experience to perfection. “Yeah, absolutely [we’ll polish the game for PS5],” added Andersson “And this is also the opportunity to mention our technology is based on id Tech. We have our own, modified, version of id Tech, but it is originally a multi-platform engine. So we have a great start to it already.”
