Napoleon: The Director’s Cut Now Available, Features 48 Minutes of New Footage
is officially available on Apple TV+, bringing with it almost an hour of brand new, never-before-seen footage from Ridley Scott’s historical epic.
In a new post on social media, Ridley Scott announced the extended cut of the film was available to stream now. The new version of the film also features 48 minutes of new footage, extending Scott’s drama with more details about Napoleon’s fall from grace, as well as an entirely new battle scene, the Battle of Marengo.

Originally released in 2023, Napoleon garnered mixed reviews upon its launch, where it grossed just over $220 million at the box office. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards, including Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Visual Effects.

Ridley Scott directed the film from a screenplay written by David Scarpa. The film also marked Joaquin Phoenix and Scott’s latest collaboration together after previously working together in the acclaimed 2000 epic drama Gladiator. Alongside Phoenix, Napoleon also stars Vanessa Kirby, Tahar Rahim, Ben Miles, Ludivine Sagnier, Matthew Needham, Youssef Kerkour, Phil Cornwell, and more.
