At Sony’s recent State of Play presentation, Pocketpair shadow dropped its open world survivor sensation Palworld for the PS5, but it looks like the game isn’t going to be available to players on the platform all over the world.
Shortly after the game’s PlayStation reveal, the official Japanese Palworld Twitter account revealed that the game’s Japanese release is on hold.
“The release date in Japan has not yet been decide,” Pocketpair wrote. “We apologize to everyone in Japan who was looking forward to it, but all of our staff will do our best to deliver it to PS5 users as soon as possible, so we hope you will wait for a little longer.”
Pocketpair didn’t provide a release date for the game’s PS5 version in Japan, nor did it mention a reason for the delay.
Pocketpair was, of course, recently sued by Nintendo and The Pokemon Company over patent infringements, and Japan is where the suit was filed, but it’s unknown if it was responsible for Palworld’s PS5 delay.
