Sonderland has been dropping quirky games lately. I recently shared the launch of their new game Bella Wants Blood on Android. Today, I have news about another of their latest releases, Landnama – Viking Strategy RPG.
The name makes it pretty much clear that it’s a strategy RPG involving Vikings. You dive into the rugged and resourceful life of a Viking chieftain. He’s trying to carve out a life in medieval Iceland, and it’s anything but your typical city builder.
The game’s main challenge is surviving the harsh winters by using the single resource at your disposal. The resource is called Heart. It’s your Viking clan’s lifeline, where every Heart counts for every construction, upgrade and survival need.
Landnama – Viking Strategy RPG serves up a mix of strategy and puzzle. There’s no combat-heavy adventure; you just nurture a budding Viking community. You’ll be sending your clan out to explore, building in the right places and eking out resources to stay warm.
The game’s pacing is sweet and snappy. And the visuals are quite soothing, too. On that note, catch a glimpse of Landnama – Viking Strategy RPG right here!
That’s where the Heart resource gets used. You’ll choose whether to focus on expanding your settlement, which costs Hearts, or go hunting and build your stockpile to hold out through the winter.
Settling on fertile land might make sense for building, but you’ll have to be ready to tackle the extra obstacles each terrain has for you. If you’ve played and liked games like Northgard and Catan, then Landnama is worth a look. Check it out on theGoogle Play Store.
