Nuketown is one of the best known maps, a chaotic playground of close-quarters combat and nostalgia. However, one of its most memorable features is the mannequin Easter eggs. From the original to its later iterations, these inanimate figures have become a canvas for developers to give fast players a reward.
Still, some Nuketown mannequin Easter eggs are better than others. There are definitely some we wish we could see again, but others felt like a waste of time. The mannequin Easter egg is generally triggered by shooting the head off of each mannequin found around the map, not including those that can be seen inside the school bus, though there is some variation game to game.
TheNuketown Easter egg gives players an interesting way to play the game, but it is not fun or very creative. The game gives players a synth view, where the world is black with green outlines and shading to show their surroundings. Players unlock variations of the synth view by dismembering mannequins: green by removing the heads and blue by removing the arms, too.
A Black Ops 6 clip shared on Reddit sees a player hilariously being transported to the Warzone map, directly from a game of multiplayer.
This Easter egg, unfortunately, comes across as lazy and unimaginative. Players spend time taking out the mannequin limbs, anticipating a rewarding Easter egg. The payoff, however, is a visual filter that makes it harder to see. This view is interesting for a few seconds and then gets really annoying. It’s really hard to play in this view, and it’s almost like the game is punishing players for discovering an Easter egg they’ve come to love.
It’s even worse when compared to other versions of this same Easter egg. Sure, this must have taken the team some time to put together, but it’s not a reward. It’s a change in screen. It would be better if players could activate this feature on other maps or try to play this way in a full multiplayer match from the start, but instead, it’s just a tease at what
