Vocations are classes that you can choose for potential party members, but anyone you hire also has a unique personality. A character's disposition determines how easy or difficult it is to grow a particular stat as they level up. Some classes are made stronger with the growth of specific stats, so you want synergy between someone's personality and their chosen Vocation.
Personalities each affect the Stat Growth Rating of a character's traits, which includes their Strength, Resilience, Agility, Stamina, Wisdom, and Luck. Stat Growth Ratings are determined on a scale from H, G, F, E, D, C, B, A, S, and SS. If a stat has an H, it increases extremely slowly as a character levels up, but an SS score for that trait would cause it to grow incredibly quickly.
45 total Personalities are in the game, with one determined randomly when you recruit characters in . The moment you hire a new character after picking their class, appearance, and Seed Allowance, a personality is assigned to them.
