Every character in your party needs strong equipment to grow stronger, but the best gear for each Vocation class varies. Nearly every piece of equipment is restricted to which archetypes can use it. Some items may have strong effects that support a Vocation's strengths, while another may simply be the greatest buff to that class' offense or defense.
One party member is capable of wielding five pieces of equipment — Weapons, Armor, Shields, Helmets, and Accessories. You can only have one item of each type equipped to a single character at a time, giving you limits on your party's customization. Depending on which Vocations in you have on your team, you have a chance to use specific equipment restricted to the classes you've recruited.
Weapons are equipment that boost a character's Strength stat adding its attacking power. Similarly, Armor, Shields, and Helmets use their defensive power to boost a character's Resilience, or the stat tied to their protection from enemy damage. This is not to be confused with Stamina, the stat tied to a party member's max HP.

Accessories are extra pieces of equipment with unique effects that also raise other stats for a character. For example, one Accessory may raise a character's Wisdom, while another buffs their Agility. The combination of unique weapons in along with other equipment are what creates powerful builds for a character of a certain Vocation class.
Some equipment can only be used on a character with a specific appearance. For example, the Party Dress Armor only works on Thief and Gadabout characters who also have Appearance B. For this guide, the equipment included will only be ones that can be worn by any character, regardless of appearance.
